U.S. Visas News > Update on Diversity Visa (DV) Program 2025: Egypt Limit Reached
As of September 15, 2025, Egyptian Natives have reached their per country limit for Diversity Visa for fiscal year 2025.
By law, the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery program limits the number of visas issued to natives of any single country to 7 percent of the total available diversity visas each fiscal year. No single country can receive more than 7 percent of the 52,056 Diversity Visas available for the 2025 program year. This means a maximum of visas per country. Egypt achieved this number on September 15.
As provided in the DV-2025 program instructions, selection does not guarantee that an applicant will receive a visa interview or a visa. Selection means the person may be eligible to participate in the DV program and may potentially apply for a visa. Due to the probability that some of the first 52,056 persons selected will not qualify for visas or ultimately choose not to participate in the program, more individuals are selected to participate in the program each year than the number of visas available.
